Classes

The studio offers a year-round schedule of classes in pottery and clay sculpture. Students learn to create decorative and functional clay objects in a spacious, well-lit studio, designed as a teaching space.

Andrew Quient began teaching pottery in 1966. He formerly taught at colleges and art programs in the New York area, and founded his own pottery school in 1990. He teaches by a combination of demonstration and individual instruction. Each class includes students at all levels of experience. Beginners especially benefit from the experience of other students. With one-to-one help, all work at their own pace and follow their own interests.

The studio equipment includes:
~ ten electric potter's wheels
~ ample space for handbuilding and glazing
~ electric kilns for stoneware firing
~ a wide selection of time-tested glazes
~ abundant shelf space for student work

The studio is fully accessible to the handicapped.
