eclecTechs ISP division Rules, Policies and Guidelines
Privacy Policy
eclecTechs ISP division is dedicated to protecting the privacy of user information and data stored on or
transmitted via the eclecTechs ISP division system. USER must recognize, however, that there are limits to what
eclecTechs ISP division can do and that eclecTechs ISP division can not and does not guarantee absolute privacy or account
security. Thus, USER must assume primary responsibility for privacy and security by carefully
protecting the secrecy of login passwords, periodically changing passwords, exercising care in
setting or modifying file and directory permissions, not sending unencrypted confidential
information via the Internet, etc.
In the course of administrating and maintaining the system, eclecTechs ISP division personnel may from time
to time read, examine, or inspect the information contained in USER's files, electronic mail
messages, newsgroup postings, etc. (Information that USER does not wish to be so examined
should not be stored on the eclecTechs ISP division system.) Nevertheless, eclecTechs ISP division will not release or
disclose any of USER's information to other parties except under the circumstances described
in Paragraph 8 of the eclecTechs ISP division Internet Access Services
Agreement.
In completing eclecTechs signup or bill payment form, please be assured that this information is protected with secure socket layer (SSL) encryption. We permit only authorized employees to have access to confidential USER information in order to provide excellent service. Credit card information is not shared and will not be sold to third parties for any purpose without express permission of USER. To prevent unauthorized access and/or usage, we have put in place appropriate physical, logistical and electronic procedures to secure any confidential information that is provided to us by USER.
Information Policies
eclecTechs ISP division will not censor, monitor, or otherwise filter anything that comes from/to Internet. Some newsgroup material may be offensive, if you don't like that newsgroup, just "unsubscribe" (check help information in
your favorite newsreader) that newsgroup. We respect our user's choices.
In participating in Internet services such as e-mail mailing lists, USENET Newsgroups,
etc., USER shall be responsible for determining and complying with the proper rules and
procedures applicable to the particular service. Most mailing lists have help or information
files and many USENET Newsgroups have FAQ ("Frequently Asked Questions") files that set forth
the applicable procedures.
System Use Policies
All users are expected to use good judgment. A flexible, friendly atmosphere can be
maintained if every user uses the system with care.
eclecTechs ISP division will use its best efforts to insure system integrity and security. Nonetheless,
there is a balance that must be struck between restricting operating system functionality,
which can increase system integrity and security, and allowing optimum user control and
configurability, which can compromise system integrity and security. USER must therefore be
responsible for making certain that its use of the operating system does not cause harm to the
system or to other users. In the event of any dispute or disagreement over what constitutes
appropriate use of the system, the determination of eclecTechs ISP division officials shall be controlling.
Background processes are permitted while a login session is active. USER must cooperate
with eclecTechs ISP division officials and other users to keep any background processes from consuming too
much processor capacity or otherwise degrading system performance. If USER leaves behind a
running process after log off, eclecTechs ISP division will normally assume that this was a stray process left
behind and will kill this process to help reduce the load on the system.
Services and Rates Schedule
The current schedule of service classifications and rates is maintained and posted on the
eclecTechs ISP division system, and may change from time to time without prior notice. Any change will not
take effect during a USER's current service period.
Cancellation Policy
In the event that you cancel your service, your cancellation will become effective at the end of the month. For example, if you notify us on the 1st, 15th or 31st that you would like to cancel your account, the effective date of cancellation is the last day of that month. All cancellations must be in writing (email, fax, letter).
